JJ Abrams is High

Okay, so the new Star Trek trailer officially came out today. It's been out for a few days, but only in theaters and on blurry Youtube posts. I waited to see the 720p before I passed any on-the-record judgments other than a short tweet here and there. I think I'm sticking to my original gut feeling on this. Here's why:

1. The ships in the Star Trek universe are too big to be built in the atmosphere. That's why they we're built in space, to take advantage of the zero gravity environment.





2. Angry Spock.
Really? Just a pile of pent up emotion, eh? Did JJ ever even see Star Trek before?





3. Why is Captain Kirk driving a car? He was born in 2228 how the fuck does he have a 1960s Corvette? Why is he trying to be Anakin Skywalker? This scene is too Michel Bay for me to even digest.

Okay, so even though I'm angry at the direction of the flick, I WILL see it. It's got Simon Pegg and John Cho. Plus it's got Zoe Saldana who plays Uhura, who is very VERY easy on the eyes...
