FCC and Free US WiFi
For anyone reading this who just might live in the US, you're probably aware that the FCC is a bit archaic. They finally got the idea that we need free public internet, yet they just think we need to have our connection filtered. They're calling it "Smut" free. This is bullshit, because we all know that "Smut" is just another way of saying "Anything against our business partners agendas." They can't rid us of net neutrality so there using this to bait us in.
It's too late. The internet is a two way street. A HUGE majority of the internet is built by blokes like you and I for the sole purpose of communication and expression. It's an attack on our civil liberties and our culture.

George Carlin - 1937 to 2008
.jpg)
On of the most influential people in my life, George Carlin has passed away today. I've decided to post the Wikipedia entry on him because it's got his badass mugshot from 1972. He was a hero for free speech and will be missed a lot. [Wiki'd]
EDIT:
Just found a great post on "Ain't it Cool News" about George from the AICN team. Very good read.

Gas Station BSOD
I was headed home from Johnstar's lair when we stopped for gas. Few things in this world get two Linux geeks giggling like a BSOD at a business.

I don't think the computer was for anything other than running advertisements at poor souls shelling out $4.50 a gallon. John guess-ti-mates it's XP. I'm taking his word for it.

Crappy Animation
I decided to do some animation and special effects with Blender and Cinelerra. It's fun stuff, I'm wondering what I can do with motion capture in blender next.
